Project Description:
In 2018, a study looked at all the unpaved streets in Durham. It found:
In 2019, the City Council decided to pave all these unpaved roads within 10 years. With an annual budget of about $1.2 million, we've paved about 6 miles since then. There are about 13 miles of unpaved streets left, with 2.45 miles planned to be paved in 2024.
Bond Funding: $10,000,000
Project Timeline:
Paving will start in summer 2025 with a projected completion date sometime in 2029.
